Your website should help you run your business, not turn you into a part-time server administrator. RankEdge is a Canadian managed WordPress hosting business built for owners who want to edit pages, publish content, and serve customers without managing the technical work underneath.

We handle the hosting environment, WordPress maintenance, security basics, backups, performance, and recovery. You keep control of your website and content. The result is a simpler division of responsibility: you run the business; we keep the WordPress platform around it working.

This article explains what being a Canadian provider means to us, which features are included, and where each RankEdge hosting plan differs.

Disclosure: RankEdge publishes this article and operates the hosting service described below. Features and plan terms may change, so check the current RankEdge hosting plans before buying.

A Canadian managed WordPress hosting partner

RankEdge is a Canadian company. That means Canadian businesses can work with a provider that understands the local market and operates under Canadian privacy requirements, including PIPEDA.

It does not mean we make vague promises about where every request or copy of your data travels. Our platform uses cloud infrastructure and a content delivery network, and data may be processed in Canada or other jurisdictions with appropriate safeguards. We would rather state that boundary clearly than turn “Canadian” into an unsupported data-residency claim.

For us, the practical benefit is accountability. When you need help, you are dealing with the company responsible for the service—not trying to determine whether a server vendor, plugin developer, or generic control-panel provider owns the problem.

Your own server, without the server work

Cheap shared hosting can place hundreds of unrelated websites on the same machine. When one neighbour gets busy or causes trouble, everyone can feel the effects.

Every RankEdge base plan provisions a private server for its primary WordPress site. Your primary site does not compete with unrelated customer websites for the same machine. If you purchase an additional-site add-on, that extra site shares the server attached to your plan; it does not receive another private server.

We provision WordPress and maintain the operating layer so you do not have to configure web-server software, databases, certificates, or caching yourself. Every plan also includes an advertised storage and monthly bandwidth allowance. Visit counts are sizing guidelines, not billing meters: an occasional traffic spike does not trigger a surprise overage fee.

Performance and security are built in

A fast WordPress site needs more than a performance plugin. RankEdge combines private server resources with CDN caching, which serves copies of eligible pages from locations closer to visitors across North America and Europe.

Every plan includes:

  • Free SSL that renews automatically. Visitors receive the encrypted HTTPS connection they expect without you managing certificates.
  • Server security updates and patches. We maintain the infrastructure beneath WordPress.
  • Automatic minor updates. WordPress core and plugin minor updates are applied automatically.
  • A recovery point before automatic updates. If an update causes trouble, the site has a path back to its previous healthy state.
  • A 99.99% reachability guarantee. The exact exclusions and commitment are published in the hosting terms.

Grow and Commerce add bot and attack protection at the CDN edge. It filters common WordPress attacks, blocks abusive XML-RPC traffic, and rate-limits repeated attempts against the WordPress login before they reach the site.

No host can guarantee that every third-party plugin or custom theme will always behave correctly. Good management means reducing that risk and making recovery straightforward, not pretending the risk does not exist.

Daily backups you can restore yourself

“Backups included” matters only if you know what was saved and can recover it when needed. RankEdge takes a complete backup every night and exposes available restore points in the customer dashboard.

If a plugin update, content change, or configuration mistake breaks the site, you can choose a backup and restore it yourself. You do not need to open a support ticket and wait in a queue. The site returns at the same web address, and RankEdge takes another safety backup before a restore or reset so the action remains reversible.

Retention depends on the plan:

  • Launch: seven days of daily backup history
  • Grow: 30 days of daily backup history
  • Commerce: 30 days of daily backup history

RankEdge also keeps a final full backup for 30 days after a cancelled plan ends. Backups are still a recovery tool rather than a permanent archive, so businesses should keep a separate copy of anything they cannot afford to lose.

Migration, domains, and WordPress access made simpler

Moving a working website can feel riskier than staying with a host you have outgrown. Our free migration service is designed to reduce that risk.

After signup, you can provide your current hosting login or upload a backup. We move the site, place it on a preview address, and let you review it while the old website remains live. We normally complete the migration within 24 hours and switch traffic only after approval.

RankEdge can also reduce the usual domain setup work:

  • Buy a domain through the RankEdge dashboard and DNS and SSL are configured for you.
  • Keep a domain with another registrar and the dashboard provides the exact records to add, then reports when they are live.
  • Grow and Commerce include email forwarding, so an address on your business domain can deliver to an inbox you already use.

The dashboard also provides one-click access to WordPress. If our team needs access for support, we create a temporary administrator account that expires automatically. The access grant is logged, and we do not ask to store or use your personal WordPress password.

Plans that match the job your site does

All RankEdge plans include the managed foundation: a private server for the primary site, SSL, CDN, automatic maintenance, daily backups, self-serve restore, and free migration.

The differences reflect the kind of website you operate:

Launch for a new business site

Launch is sized for a new WordPress site getting off the ground. It includes seven days of backup history and the full managed hosting foundation.

Grow for an established, busier site

Grow increases storage and bandwidth allowances, keeps 30 days of backups, and adds bot and attack protection, email forwarding, priority support, and a monthly plain-language SEO report.

Commerce for an online store

Commerce is built for WooCommerce. It includes everything in Grow, adds more server capacity, and comes with WooCommerce installed and configured for checkout. RankEdge checks the storefront and cart every five minutes so a broken shopping path can be detected quickly.

Plan visit figures describe what each server is sized to handle comfortably. They are not hard visitor limits and do not create per-visit charges. If a site consistently outgrows its plan, we start a conversation about the right next step.

What you still control

Managed WordPress hosting does not take ownership of your website away from you. You choose what to publish, who can sign in, how the site looks, and which themes or plugins it uses. You remain responsible for your content, custom code, and the compatibility of the software you install.

RankEdge manages the platform around those choices. That includes the server, updates, backups, certificates, CDN, security controls, and recovery tools. If you need both the website and the hosting, our broader websites and hosting service can bring the build, launch, infrastructure, and ongoing care together.

Canadian hosting support, without the technical homework

RankEdge exists for businesses that want WordPress to remain useful without becoming another system they have to operate. Our managed service combines a private server, CDN, SSL, automatic maintenance, daily backups, self-serve recovery, migration help, and a human support path in one place.

If that sounds like the way you want to run your website, compare the current RankEdge hosting plans or contact RankEdge to discuss your site and migration.
